Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Allan Clark. I have two sons with a very rare and complex condition called Laurence Moon Bardet Biedl Syndrome. I am an active member of the LMBB Society and as a member of the committee feel I should lead with my feet to raise the funds necessary to keep this important source of support functioning.
I am therefore committing myself to complete the WEST HIGHLAND WAY in the week leading up to this year's family conference. 96 Miles in a week from Milngavie to Fort William in some of the most beautful scenery Scotland has to offer.
I plan to start in Fort William and finish in Milngavie then get straight on the train to Northampton for the conference.
(I am currently walking on my own but would invite anyone who is interested in joining me for a leg or two to contact me at allan.clark3@virgin.net. I plan to leave Fort William on the 7th of April 2011 and arrive in Milngavie on the 11th.)
Please donate now so that I can raise as much money as possible. I initially thought I could maybe raise £3000 but people are already being so generous that I hope to smash this total.
I would like to take this opportunity to especially thank Stuart Allison and the staff of Rolls Royce in Bristol who have already raised funds for LMBBS by doing a sponsored walk; and Robert Watson, Paul Griffin and David Banks who all completed the Half Marathon route of the Great Scottish Run in aid of LMBBS. I am humbled by these efforts to raise money on the Society's behalf.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Finally, I would like to ask you to dig deep and support this worthy cause. I am walking the route in April so I see a lot of rain, possibly snow and blisters in my future. Please make my efforts worthwhile!!!!
