We did it & just under the hour too, with a time of 58.25!!

Thank you to everyone who has donated, encouraged & given us words of advice. Joshua was a star keeping me going through out both the training & the race itself. Richard did sterling work as our support crew.

Only a few days now until we do the run. Training has gone well and we feel we are in good shape to complete the run on Monday. Thanks to everyone who has been supporting us.

My son, Joshua & I will be running out first 10k race to raise money for the PSP Association ,the organisation which is supporting my Father, Alan, who has been diagnosed with Cortico Basal Degeneration (CBD). The PSP Association is the only UK charity dedicated to providing support for those living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Cortico Basal Degeneration. They also fund research ,as well as providing the wonderful Nurse Specialists who are available 24/7 to carers, patients & health professionals for advice & support.

At the moment this disease has no treatment & no cure. Over time CBD can rob a person of the ability to walk, talk, feed themselves or communicate effectively with the world around them, yet they usually remain mentally alert.

The money Joshua & I are aiming to raise, is the average cost of holding three Support Group Meeting. These meetings take place around the country and support patients & carers giving information on current research & allowing those who attend a forum to discuss their experiences. They have been hugely beneficial to my mother who is now Alan's main carer.

Any donation, small or large & words of encouragement will all be welcome.
