Story
Alex, aged 4 (nearly 5) told me recently that he wanted to run to raise money for children who do not have any toys.
We decided to run 25 miles between the 1 and 31 August 2020.
We chose Axl's toy fund, as in 2015 is where we met Axl and Claire at a local play group.
Axl suffered from a rare blood disorder called congenital dyserythropoietic anaemia (CDA) and he underwent two bone marrow transplants during his brave fight.
Playing with distraction toys and games really helped Axl while he was undergoing his treatment.
Sadly Axl lost his fight a few days before his 3 birthday in 2018.
Axl's toy fund is a charity close to our hearts and we would like to continue supporting the work of the play leaders/nurses and help supply toys to the children on the ward and in the community.
Thank you for your support
Alex
