Event: Friends Of The Earth Trust - Big Green Bike Ride, on 6 May 2012
We find solutions to environmental problems to see a fair world for future generations

Story

I'm planning to cycle 65 miles (about 105 kilometers) from London to Cambridge. This is the first time I do anything long distance. This is 9 times my familiar Montpellier - Palavas ride. I’ll need a pretty good breakfast.

To make it harder, I’ll ride on a veteran single speed bicycle. Yes, only one gear... that’s the challenge. Why do I call it a veteran bike? It was abducted from my estate last summer. The police recovered it a few days later after I spotted it on gumtree for a ransom. Many thanks to the Met burglary squad for their hard work.

This is a fundraising challenge called the Big Green Bike Ride. I'm doing it for Friends of the Earth. They are active in 76 countries around the globe, coming up with practical solutions to environmental challenges. For a £10 donation, £8.50 will go to Friends of the Earth. The rest is invested in the ride, making it happen! Please give as much as you can. Thank you.

Donating through JustGiving is simple and secure. They’ll send your money directly to Friends of the Earth and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation. That way I raise more, while saving time and cutting costs for the charity. So please donate now to encourage me to start training.
Thank you.
