Story

I am attempting to break the world record for the fastest female marathon dressed as a zombie.

Why? Quite simply, to see if I can. To see what I am capable of when I give everything I can - training, nutrition, sleep, zombie vocal training....the whole shebang!

Guinness world records have given me a time to beat of 3 hours 39 minutes which is a massive 6 minutes quicker than I’ve run any other marathon. Plus, I’ve got the added warmth of my zombie costume to contend with.

It’s a fun challenge but there’s a serious side to it. Once again I’ll be fundraising for Oxfordshire Mind in memory of Zak, who took his own life on 21 September 2014.

1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem in any one year.Oxfordshire Mind helps over 20,000 people with mental health challenges every year. They promote good mental health through the provision of high quality services and campaigning for positive change.Their services include housing, talking therapies, benefits advice, a confidential and free information line, courses (such as ‘practical ways to wellbeing’), physical activity programmes, volunteering opportunities, and they facilitate over 60 peer-support groups each week.

I can’t guarantee that I’ll break the record, but I can guarantee that your donation will make a massive difference to someone’s life. Thank you.
