We create 'Schools of Hope' in the slums to give children access to education

Story

I am Alex Evans, I am eight years old and I am going to be doing a sponsored walk in aid of School Children for Children. I will be setting out from The Dylan Thomas Theatre walking the five miles to Mumbles park opposite the Carlton Hotel in my Easter Holidays. Sunday 22nd April (Date provisional and TBC)

I'd really like to get some help with raising my target...so, if you would like to walk with me that would be fabulous. If there were ten of us raising just £20 each that would cover the cost of supporting a child in the St Prisca Children's Programme for one year.

This sponsorship would mean a child would receive school fees, uniform and a nutritios lunch in school each day, or allow them to attend the homework club each evening.

Most of us would rather not do our homework, however for the children at St Prisca's they can't do their homework at home as they often have no space or light to do so. This homework club provides them with, up to date curriculum text books, secure library book space, desks and chairs for each student, and electric lighting from the mains or via a generator. There is also the opportunity to learn life skills and take part in music, sports and drama.

Thank you for your time, why not take a look at the charities own website, perhaps you might like to sponsor a child for £15 per month. That is less than 50p a day!

Alex

ChallengeAid (CA) raises money through sponsored challenges in the UK. None of the money raised is used for admin purposes. With that money we create Schools of Hope in slums in East Africa to allow aspirational children, through education, to escape the cycle of poverty in which they are trapped.
