We are fighting to make a world where diabetes does no harm

Story

In April 2012 my friend Emily died from complications arising from Type 1 diabetes, aged 29. She is missed hugely by all those who knew and loved her. Please see the team blog here: http://www.teamemandme.org/

I've never been a very sporty person and it was Em who first got me running - at college, then entering my first 10k and later my first half marathon. Em was constantly challenging herself with bigger and bigger goals, consistently supporting Diabetes UK. She is an inspiration to us all.

Emily was due to run her first marathon in April 2013, and the 15 of us who make up TEAM (Team Em and Me) are now running it in her honour. I'm extremely proud to be running for Diabetes UK - a charity which Em felt hugely passionate about and which will support further research into Type 1 diabetes.

This is for you, Em.
