I am hoping to raise as much money as possible for Link which supports education in . Last year I spent 3 ½ months living and working in Gondar in the north-west of the country and have seen first hand the fantastic work this charity does in providing clean water, classrooms, books and other resources and materials for a large number of schools. As well as all this Link Ethiopia runs a child sponsorship programme which provides uniforms, books and writing materials for children whose parents would not otherwise be able to afford to send them to school. The charity also sends a number of volunteer teachers out to each year, which is how I got to experience this remarkable country for myself.

Development is still an uphill struggle for a country like but focusing on educating the younger generation is key to its future.

The exchange rate is currently £1 = 25 Ethiopian Birr and with pens and books costing just a couple of birr, a donation of just £5 can contribute so much
