Story
So, it's official - I've gone completely mad. I must have, because I've signed up to do the London to Brighton Trek again. Last year was ough, physically (my toenails still haven't recovered) and mentally, but one of the proudest achievements of my life. The support everyone gave Team Bob was truly amazing, and the British Heart Foundation worked really hard to make it a great event. Plus we raised pots of cash for charity. So, I thought to myself, why not give it another go? I'm really pleased to have my friend Linda joining me in the team - and we're still looking for more people to join us!
So, on 21st June we will set off for Brighton again, starting from Sandown Racecourse this time - and will be walking the 100km from London in 30 hours or less. We'll be doing lots of different fundraising, including producing a new edition of Bob's Bites, the book of family favourite recipes.
All this is in memory of my dad, Bob Collis, who died suddenly in August 2011, from a sudden heart attack. He was one of the kindest people you could wish to know, and it's my pleasure to try and make him proud. And the British Heart Foundation is such a great cause. It's due to research and awareness raising by organisations like them that we got an extra 20 years with him after his first heart attack.
So, thanks for supporting us - whether it be with training advice, a donation, a recipe, or cheering us over the finish line. Go Team Bob!!
