Story
OK. No doubt many of you probably think I'm running the MdS because of some mid-life crisis. Maybe I am and maybe I should have just bought a Harley Davison or got some guitar lessons and be done with it.
Well I signed up for it and will be on the start line very shortly. The thought of raising money for a cause didn't really cross my mind until I was sitiing in Paddington train station waiting for my mum to come down from Wales. I picked up the London Evening Standard and read a headline that totally grabbed my attention: 'I wish my son had cancer'.
The headline was written by Alex, the father of a little boy called Harrison. Harrison is fighting a life-limiting disease called Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. By the time Harrison is a teenager he will lose the ability to walk. Eventually he'll lose all muscle function in his body. Like all boys with Duchenne he'll die in his late teens or early twenties from heart or respiritory failure.
I was moved to tears and emailed Alex to say I'd like to try and raise money for Harrison's Fund.
So please dig deep folks. I will.
I appreciate every single donation however big or small.
Thank you for your support.
