Story

So with a history of having bad ideas, I thought it would be a challenge to make the trek to Mount Everest Base Camp in support of Yorkhill Children's Hospital in Glasgow!

This a huge challenge, both in terms of the amount I'm hoping to raise - £4,000 - and the sheer physical effort involved in treking for 15 days over some extremely difficult terrain to reach the base camp at 17,598 feet above see level - FOUR times the height of Ben Nevis! Day time temperature into the 30s, and minus 10 at night, with altitude sickness a constant threat, as well as the chance of getting eaten by a Yeti, this ain't no Sunday stroll!

Yorkhill Hospital is world-renowned in their care and treatment of sick kids and with this challenge I, along with my fellow Yeti-yomper Mhairi Jack, hope to raise much need funds for the hospital when it moves next year to a new site.

So get giving folks, you can guranatee I won't be doing this one again!
