Story
Hi guys,
Thanks so much for clicking through.
Kim and I will be running the Farnham Pilgrim Marathon on the 18th September.
Its the first thing I have run for since a bus on the way to school in the mid nineties so its going to hurt. The run is tough for decent runners. The hilly terrain means that we will be in for a not too comfortable 13 miles but we are doing it for our friends Jason and Kelly Carter who lost their daughter Esme, aged only 22 months to HLH last year.
Esme or Bubby would have been celebrating her 3rd birthday on the day of the race so we are running in memory of her and to raise money for the HLH (Haemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis) Research Trust so that other children with HLH do not suffer like she did.
Esme was diagnosed wth the disease in May 2010 and spent the next three months in Great Ormond Street Hospital undergoing countless operations, tests and procedures. Tragically she was not strong enough to survive the treatment and her life support was turned off on 15th July 2010.
We would greatly appreciate your support so we can raise as much money as possible for a cause which is now very close to our hearts.
Thanks
Alan & Kim
