Thank you for visiting my justgiving page. In March of this year, I will be running a half marathon to raise money for Tommy's, the baby charity, in memory of my niece. Our story is below.

On 8 May 2017, my sister-in-law gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Beatrice Emilia. Despite a seemingly routine pregnancy and reaching full-term, on 9 May 2017, a few hours after she was born, Beatrice passed away. While Bea's death has left a huge void in our hearts, she has also inspired love, resilience, and a desire to effect change.

Around 25% of pregnancies in the UK end in premature death. Many of you will know of similar stories or perhaps experienced this first hand. To pay tribute to my niece, treasure her memory and help to change these statistics, we are raising money for Tommy's, the baby charity.

Tommy's funds and undertakes groundbreaking research into miscarriage, still-birth and neonatal death. Their work in the last 25 years has already helped lower the number of miscarriages in the UK but clearly there is more still to be done. Tommy's work can help to ensure that fewer families have to suffer the ultimate pain and loss that we did.

As part of this fund raising I will be running the London Landmarks half-marathon. This will be my first foray into the realms of distance running and is sure to be a challenging experience. I have set myself an initial target of beating the two hour mark and your support is sure to encourage me as the winter takes hold.
