Story
Hi,
My name is Aida, working mum to a happy little boy, blogger, full time dreamer.
Over the month of December I'll be wearing a silly Christmas jumper* to work every Friday, to raise funds for the Lullaby Trust.
* when I say silly, I mean costume-made-over-the-top-nonsense Christmas Jumper AND YES, there will be photos!
Over 300 babies still die every year of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), in the UK. The Lullaby Trust provides specialist support for families who experience the sudden and shocking loss of a baby. They promote expert advice on safer baby sleep and have funded cutting-edge research for over 40 years, making a major contribution to reducing sudden infant death by 70%.
I first heard of the Lullaby Trust through the tragic story of a mother who lost her 9 month old baby daughter. She was a gorgeous and healthy baby girl and one night she went to bed never to wake up again. (click here to read more about it)
That happened 10 months ago and everyday her family goes through the pain of her loss.
As a mother myself I cannot ignore that suffering and whilst there is nothing I can do to help this particular family, I feel that by supporting the Lullaby Trust WE can all help them spread the word so that new families learn what they can do to prevent SIDS.
Every penny counts:
every £1 can buy a room thermometer, to help maintain a safe temperature for babies.
it only costs the Lullaby Trust £5 for a Bubbalicious information pack, to raising awareness of their safe sleep messages among teenage parents.
Every £14 can provide one hour of helpline support from trained advisors. That can be a lifesaver for families who went through the sudden terrible loss of their babies
£550 can train bereaved parents who wish to support other families in the future.
If everyone who gets to this page donates £1 we will be making a difference. Just think of this: YOU CAN HELP SAVING A BABY'S LIFE
