Story
Thank you for stopping by... I won’t keep you long, but today I ask you all to think about your life and how Small change makes a Big difference to those who are in an unfortunate position.
Over 500,000 + Rohingya people have been displaced, lost their homes livelihood and families in atrocious attacks. Those who are living at campsites are struggling with basic necessities. Conditions in the camps are harsh – the overcrowding, the shortages of clean water, sanitation, health care affects many displaced families. Waterborne and other diseases are a constant threat in the overcrowded camps, which need to be urgently decongested to ensure basic facilities reach all inhabitants.
More must be done to support the vulnerable in particular the children who have been left traumatised and have limited access to education. The risk of not having education will cause a greater risk that they will miss out to build a future for themselves and their families.
Consequently, this brings me back to Small change makes a Big Difference. I have challenged myself to climb the highest free- standing mountain in the world(Everest of course). In support of Penny Appeal’s Rohingya Emergency Appeal, which consist of 17-day trip 18,000 feet above the Earth. Why you may ask? It’s a humanitarian crisis which cannot be overlooked, and through my participation I will be able to raise awareness to support the much needed people of Rohingya especially the children who may struggle to find hope but collectively we can bring hope back into their lives.
Since you ask “how you can help?” I have a benchmark of £4500 to be reached within the next 4 months. Your donations will provide food, clothes, hygiene and sanitation items and supplies
of clean, fresh water, alongside building much-needed shelters and toilets. Every penny of the money raised through fundraising will be spent providing aid to Rohingya refugees
*Zakat is also accepted.
