It was three years later, Hamish and Dougal were once more sitting on a bench in the attractive East Lothian town of Musselburgh, partaking of the world famous ice-cream.

"Michty me!" said Hamish suddenly.

"Whit?" said Dougal.

"I dinnae believe it," gasped Hamish, "it's them again.  Combined age of 104, you really think they would know better."

"Whit?" said Dougal again.

"Them" said Hamish. "Gillian and Adrienne.  Seven times they've done the Edinburgh Marathon between them already. I cannie help but wonder whit goes on in their tiny wee heids".

"Twins aren't they ?" said Dougal,  nodding sagely.  "Just goes tae show.  Lunacy; it's contagious and hereditary."

But we enjoy running marathons and this year we are supporting  Leonard Cheshire Disability, the absolutely splendid charity that manages the supported accommodation where Adrienne's daughter Caroline has her flat. They supply the 24/7 care teams and the Monday to Friday day centre placement that Caroline, and others like her, need.  And all we have to do in return is ...........well nothing actually.  So we are going to do this.
