As part of Bishop Fleming's centenary year celebrations, we (as a firm) are committed to raising a total target of £100,000 for charity split across a number of charities. I have volunteered to take part in the 3 peak challenge which involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon within 24 hours. This is 23 miles of walking with a 10,000 ft vertical ascent and 460 miles of driving in between to make it tougher!

My chosen charity is Hospiscare which is the local adult hospice charity for the Exeter, Mid or East Devon region. I chose this charity through seeing the importance of Hospices in providing end of life care to people that I know and their families and friends.  

Their services are vital to the local community. It costs Hospiscare approximately £6.4m a year to provide their services to the community and only £1.25m is funded by the NHS. As you can see this is quite a deficit for such an important service!
