Cycling from Land's End to John o'Groats for Cancer Research UK
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am embarking on the well trodden path of cycling from Land's End to John o'Groats this summer in aid of Cancer Research UK. Many of you will know that my Dad passed away a few years back so I am doing this partly in his memory and partly because I hit the big 40 this year. Also, it's a good way to get a new bike past the missus.
I am planning the trip over two weeks (it's got to be fun too), cycling approximately 70 miles per day on my Surly Long Haul Trucker, which is currently lying in bits on my garage floor. You can keep up-to-date with how things are progressing by visiting my blog. Should you live near my route, please bring ice and plenty of it for my hard-working knees, I just hope they last the distance. I plan to be sampling some of local ales along the way, purely for sustenance you understand and it should also dull the pain a little. Can you be arrested for being under the influence whilst in charge of a bicycle? I am only joking of course, however, a modest lunchtime refreshment is definitely on the cards, as is lots of fun and adventure.
