Story
On the 26th July 2000, we suffered the loss of our beautiful son. Kian was born with a rare heart disease that was not picked up until he came into this world. Once he was delivered and needed to rely on his own body and organs, his heart was unable to pump the blood and oxygen around his body due to the connection of the valves.
Following his transfer to Guy's Hospital, he lost his battle and passed away after 14 hours of his short life.
This July, Kian would have been 10 years old and I am running the Marathon in memory of the son that was lost and to raise money for the Evelina Childrens Trust at Guy's & St. Thomas' Hospital.
Each year the hospital provides world class treatment and care for 80,000 young patients, including the provision of specialist equipment such as neonatal incubators, pull down beds for parents, scanners and sensory rooms. Without the support and kind donations the service they provide would not be possible. Therefore, any amount that you can donate would be a massive help and also would be a fitting tribute to Kian.
Myself and my family would like to thank you very much for your support and for taking the time to give to this worthwhile charity. It could not be simpler and by donating through JustGiving it is fast and totally secure. Your details are safe and they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate!!
Once again thank you for contributing to my target and fingers crossed the sub 4 hour barrier is broken.
