Our son Adam was diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in 2010 at just 4 years old. Duchenne is a severe degenerative Muscle wasting Disease, which will unfortunately lead to paralysis and will significantly shorten his life.

The condition is now beginning to impact Adam's daily life. As it is a degenerative disease, his condition will continue to worsen. At present there is no cure but treatment and support can help improve both the quality and length of life...Adam is known to us all as one very special little boy who is very determined and will give everything ago no matter how difficult it is for him, if you have been lucky enough to meet him I'm sure you will agree!!  We are very proud to be the parents of Adam and admire him for his courage and determination. 

 Therefore we have chosen to support Muscular Dystrophy UK and every penny raised will go towards funding their Duchenne research breakthrough fund making a vital impact for families such as ours and others across the UK.  For more information please follow this link 

Adam and his friends have decided to support the Muscular Dystrophy Move a Mile for Muscles campaign by swimming 1 mile of Weymouth Swimming Pool as a relay, one of his friends has even decided to do the 1 mile himself!
