Earlier this year we lost one of our best friends Adam Cunliffe to a heart attack at the age of 20. We are climbing Snowdon in his memory to raise money for CRY- Cardiac Risk in the Young, to help families who suffer a sudden loss of a young loved one and more crucial to try to stop this happening to other young people.
Due to a long running joke and his favourite film, we will be dressed as characters from the Lord of the Rings as we climb the mountain.
Please give what you can to help us raise awareness.
Adam was a loved son, adored brother and great friend to us all. Nothing was more important to Adam than his family, friends and girlfriend.
With nearly 3 years complete at university studying Teaching in Primary Education, a bright and sociable future lay ahead of him.
Whether it was at school, university or even the pub, Adam had time to spare for anyone and everyone, his favourite topic of conversation his beloved Everton FC and Wigan RLFC. This friendly and kind nature is the reason amongst many many others, he will be sadly missed by family, friends, loved ones and anyone who knew him.
Every week in the UK at least 12 young people die of undiagnosed heart conditions. CRY works to reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD). CRY supports young people diagnosed with potentially life threatening cardiac conditions and offers bereavement support to families affected by YSCD. CRY promotes and develops heart screening programmes and funds medical research. CRY publishes and distributes medical information written by leading cardiologists for the general public. CRY funds fast track referral, screening and cardiac pathology services at leading UK hospitals.
