Story
Back in 2000 I was lucky enough to ride with two friends from Cape Horn to Alaska, 12,500 miles in 12 weeks, in aid of the Downs Syndrome Association. It was a fantastic experience in terms of the people we met, the landscapes we saw, and the perspective we gained. Since then business and family life has intervened, but late last year I was talked into taking on this six day Rally, and loaned a bike to do it on. What sounded like a fun few days in the Greek mountains has turned into quite a major undertaking, with serious logistics and equipment. Whilst I am covering all the costs myself with support from friends and family, I would like to use the opportunity to raise funds for Naomi House, a local charity who do great work for young people and families going through very tough times. I am setting myself the target of completing the Rally which will involve riding some 2200km over the 5 days of the event, 50% of which is off road and all requires me to navigate and control my speed to the prescribed targets. So this is my challenge, and if you feel able, anything you can contribute to this excellent organisation would be very much appreciated.
