Right now millions of children are in danger.  They are facing violence, disease, hunger and the chaos of war and disaster.  We have the power to change this and with your help UNICEF will do whatever it takes until every child is safe.  Unicef operates in 190 countries around the world and ensures more of the world’s children are fed, vaccinated, educated and protected than any other organisation.  Your donation will help them continue to achieve that.

I am excited to tell you that I am crewing on two legs of the Clipper Round the World race and I am proud and honoured that the yacht that I am sailing on is the Official UNICEF yacht, with its distinctive blue and brand name.  I shall be sailing on Leg 5 (the Whitsundays to Qingdao) which is about 7 weeks at sea and Leg 7 which sails from Seattle, Panama Canal, the Caribbean and finishes in New York, which is about 5 weeks at sea.

This race will be one of the biggest challenges I have ever faced and an endurance test like no other.  I have had no previous sailing experience at this level and Clipper prides itself in giving us crew members the training required to achieve something remarkable in such extreme circumstances.  I shall face my fears and overcome my worst nightmares!  All in a good cause, to raise money for UNICEF and the amazing work it does to protect and care for the children of the world.
