Story
Opening the morning post to find that your recent routine smear has shown up severe abnormalities and needs further treatment isn't a great way to start the week in all honesty. (3rd Oct 2014). I'd like to say i've had worse but that would be a lie!
After being diagnosed with cervical cancer on the 29th October a further MRI scan detailed the seriousness of the disease which meant the best course of action at this time would be a radical hysterectomy and node dissection.
I was booked in for the 14th November which meant I could still have my night at the palladium with Mr Robbie Williams before going under the knife! And what a night it was, we lived it up like superstars rubbing shoulders with out favourite Chatty Man and the Dragons.
When the day came I wasn't really worried. My living hell had been the 4 four weeks of not knowing the seriousness of the situation but once I had met Mr Slade (my consultant for the operation and treatment) I was as ease. He told me straight how things would be and the various possible outcomes. I trusted him implicitly. Strange as it may seem I actually looked forward to being unconcious for 3 solid hours with no worries or emotional stress.
So here am I, living proof that Jo's Trust is vital in continually raising awareness to beat cancer sooner.
