Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Sue Ryder Care will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

On 15th September 2005 a group of football fans will set off on a very unusual journey to raise money for their local hospice.

A group of four fans from Peterborough will be trying to visit all 92 football league clubs in 92 hours, collecting auction items from each club along the way. All funds raised will be donated to Sue Ryder Care's Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough. Thorpe Hall Hospice offers specialist nursing and medical care for patients with any terminal illness although the majority suffer from Cancer in some form.

There is no charge to patients or their families for the care that is offered, so every year Thorpe Hall must raise half of the £2million running costs to ensure it continues to offer outstanding care. Event organiser Steve Thorpe commented : "Thorpe Hall is a fantastic facility that has benefitted so many people in so many ways. We aim to help as much as we can by raising money with a sponsored visit to all the football league clubs in the country. So far the response has been superb, the clubs have been very accomodating and are helping us in many different ways." Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.
