Story
In April 2011, I will be attempting to run from Nestle House in York, to Nestle House in Croydon, in no more than 4 days. This will involve running approximately 226 miles in total- an average of 56.5 miles (slightly more than 2 marathons) per day. By the time I reach the heartlands of South London, I will have run a total of 8.6 marathons in 4 days. I will be joined on this journey by my old man, Garry, who will be gamely leading the way on a bike- a challenge that I have managed to persuade him to take on! Between the two of us, we will be travelling a total of 452 miles, in order to raise as much money as possible for an incredibly worthy cause.
I have been itching to commit to a new challenge since I completed the Ironman just over a year ago and have been weighing up whether I would be physically able to run this distance in such a short amount of time. However, I can think of no better reason to take on the challenge than raising money for Alzheimer's Society, an extremely worthy cause that is close to my heart. I have experienced the debilitating effect that dementia can have on individuals and the strain it can put on loved-ones and can think of no better cause to raise as much money as possible for. Please support me by sponsoring even just a small amount, to help Alzheimer's continue their fantastic work in trying to improve the quality of life for dementia sufferers.
Just think of the pain that I may be going through after 4 consecutive marathons, with more than 120 miles still to run, and donate as much as you possibly can!
Thanks in advance for your support- anyone who wants to join me and my dad on the way for a hard-earned beer is more than welcome- we will probably be passing through your town at some point!!
