Story
A very big thank you to all that donated to my Raleigh Borneo adventure, it means a lot to me.
My Raleigh deadline for online donations has now passed, but if you would still like to make a contribution I can accept these in person.
Many thanks once again.
Come September I’ll be heading out to the jungles of Borneo for nearly four months to volunteer with Raleigh International. So thank you very much for visiting my JustGiving page and hopefully contributing toward the cause.
For more info about Raleigh and the work I'll be doing please click read more...
For those unfamiliar with Raleigh they are a registered charity which operates in remote parts of the world helping local communities develop the basic living standards that you and I take for granted.
I’ve not yet been told what specific project I’ll working on, but current projects in Borneo include installation of gravity fed water systems and sanitary facilities and the building of kindergartens.
As a volunteer manager I will be helping to organise and run the projects and have been given the role of logistics co-ordinator, which amongst other things means I’ll have the key to the supply cupboard and a Jeep!
As mentioned Raleigh are a registered charity and I am required to contribute toward their projects. My target is to raise £2000, all of which goes directly to supporting the community projects.
Please note this is not a holiday in disguise, I will be taking unpaid leave from work and the cost of my flights and the many jabs I’ll need is extra to the amount shown above.
If you feel you could help me raise my target I would be very grateful for your support, no matter how big or small.
Many thanks
Andrew
