Story

Hi, my name is Jonathan Rymel and welcome to my fundraising page for the: -

PRUDENTIAL RIDE LONDON-SURREY 100

--------------------

MY SQUADRON:

No 600 (City of London) Squadron of the Royal Air Force Reserves (600SQN) is the oldest RAF Reserve Squadron in the UK. It was formed in 1925 and has a rich prestigious past with many battle honours which include the Battle of Britain in 1940.

2018 is the 100th anniversary of the Royal Air Force (RAF), known as RAF100, and during this special anniversary year 600SQN will continue to make history by raising money for good causes. The total amount raised from 2011 to present day can be found using the hyperlink below:

MY EVENT:

I took part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, an event which celebrates the legacy for cycling created by the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 starts in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, then follows a 100 mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside. With leg-testing climbs and a route made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics, it's a truly spectacular event for all involved. The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 finishes on The Mall in central London, shortly before 150 professional cyclists race in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic on a similar route.

This event is the my second of three events I have to complete to qualify for the London Classics Medal. My first event was the Virgin Money London Marathon in April 2018 when I was a part of the 600SQN London Marathon Team 2018and my final event will be Swim Serpentine in September 2018.
