Story
On the 9th of March 2021, our good friend Alex sadly passed away after having what was supposed to be a good evening amongst his university friends. He was an amazing friend who was lovely to everyone he met.
In the final days of Alex's life, the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC) in Nottingham - where he was receiving care - looked after him and his family so well. This was really appreciated by Alex's parents and sister at what was a horrendous time for them.
From 10th-11th June, Archie, Tristan, James, Harrison and Ben will be attempting to complete the National Three Peaks Challenge in under 24 hours. This includes scaling Ben Nevis (1345m), followed by Scafell Pike (978m) and Snowdon (1085m) - a total walking distance of 37km with a total ascent of 3064m. This is on top of the 11hrs driving to each of the mountains.
All of the money raised will be donated to the charity associated with the QMC, Nottingham University Hospitals Charity. Specifically, the money will go towards the adult intensive care unit where Alex was. This will ensure that in the future, patients and families in a similar situation to Alex's receive the best care and support possible. Any donations big or small are appreciated in reaching our fundraising target of £2,500.
If you pay UK income or capital gains tax please tick yes to Gift Aid as it adds 25% to your donation.
RIP Alex, we all miss you x
We’ve made a personal donation to Cool Earth to offset the carbon emissions from the trip.
