We provide welfare and practical support to seafarers and their families in need.

Story

Thanks for visiting our donation page. Aris and Pat from Ship Engineering and Philippa from Marketing Communications in London conquered the Three Peaks Challenge on Saturday 21st June, climbing three of the UK's highest mountains in less than 24 hours.  A few stats for you:

Ben Nevis, 1,344m height, West Highlands: 1,300 metres ascent and 10 miles round trip. Our time:  4h 17mins

Helvellyn, 949m height, Lake District: 754 metres ascent and 4.5 miles round trip.  Our time:   2h 47mins

Snowdon, 1085m height, North Wales:  723 metres ascent and 8 miles round trip.  Our time:   3h 39mins

So that’s a total of 2,777 metres ascent & descent, and 22.5 miles in 24 hours. Add in sleep deprivation, over indulgence in bacon baps, differing fitness levels in the team, and you have the perfect storm in the making… BUT.. we dug deep, conjured up some ABS team spirit and delivered it in under 24 hours, and even enjoyed it along the way!

We're raising money for the Sailors' Society whose work has recently included support to Filipino seafarers in the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan. Find out more at: sailors-society.org
