Story
Welcome to my homepage.
This year I am running the 2016 London Marathon for Anthony Nolan. For the last few years I have cycled for charity, but this recent challenge is pushing my limits to new levels. To complete the London Marathon, I have a 16 week training programme, that see me run just under 500 miles for a 26.3 event. During this time, I will go through 2 pairs of running shoes, a couple of knees and a hip!!!
Anthony Nolan is like no other charity... you can either donate stem cells or raise money for research. Sadly I am of the sprightly age of 47 and whilst I can still give stem cells, they may not be as reliable as a younger edition.
I visited the London Marathon store just outside Liverpool street station where I bumped into a fellow runner, who is running the marathon to help raise money and awareness of the charity. The reality kicks in when I find out his wife is looking for a stem cell transplant.
I am looking to raise £6000, whilst this may seem high or even greedy, I know that all this money will go into supporting the research of cancer and just hopefully a cure for this dreadful disease.
I hope you may be able to donate what ever value of money to this just giving page in the attempt that as a team we can all make a difference. Sadly I cannot do this on my own.
Thank you in advance
Regards Mark
