LATEST UPDATE:

We did it!! The team are back from their adventure safe and sound and you find out how they got on here: www.nissanmissionmorocco2012.com

There are plenty of short films, blogs and photos for you to look at, and there's still time to donate on this page should you wish to show your support to both the team and The Afghanistan Trust.

Thank you so much from all of the team :)

----------------------------------------------------------------

Please support our team on this challenging expediton setting off on 18th April 2012 for two weeks to North Africa, with the aim of raising money for a really worthy cause - the Afghanistan Trust www.afghanistantrust.org/

Four brave soldiers (below) from the Parachute Regiment will be leading the expedition - each of them having suffered a serious injury whilst serving in Afghanistan. They will be going on a challenging expedition to brave "surviving in the desert" in North Africa together with a team from Nissan-  so please donate what you can to support this worthy cause!

Sgt Jackson (29) - "The last year has been tough and I have had to work hard to adapt to the limitations imposed upon me by my new injury.  Mission Morocco will give me the chance to prove that my injuries are no barrier to me taking part in a challenging overseas expedition."

Pte Burns (25) "I have recently returned to work full time after being injured in Afghanistan last year.  The rehabilitation process has been a real challenge but I hope Mission Morocco will give me the opportunity to prove how far I have come and that my injuries will not prevent me from taking part in the challenges that we will face in Morocco."

Pte Urquhart (20) - "After spending the last year recovering from my injuries I am really looking forward to the challenges we will face in Morocco.  The injuries that my colleagues and myself have will make the tests tough but I'm confident that we can work together to overcome them."

Pte Vidler (22) - "It is great that we are being given the opportunity to take part in a challenging expedition like this.  Having to deal with my injury over the last year has been hard but will stand me in good stead for the challenges we will face in Morocco."

Also attending from Nissan are:

Rachael Gregory - 4x4 Product Manager, Nissan GB

Helen Marshall - Customer Services Manager, Nissan GB

Matt Thomas - Aftersales Performance Manager, Nissan GB

Paul Lloyd - Dealer Principal, West Way Nissan Manchester

Jess Tanner - Sales Operations, Nissan GB

We are really grateful for any support you can offer the charity either by donating online or texting PARA55 £10 to 70070.

Once in the wild deserts of North Africa, the teams will undergo various challenges to test their desert survival skills and ability to work as a team. Having only basic facilities and wild camping every night, the list of challenges include:

 - A cross-desert 4x4 navigation task

- A midnight desert walk to a “safe house”

- A dawn raid exercise led by members of the Parachute Regiment.

- The biggest challenge of them all will be a 10 mile march to the end the trip, in the style of the iconic Parachute Regiment selection test.
