Story
So it appears my little idea has turned into a big reality and I have officially signed up to trek to Everest Base Camp in September 2012. EEK!
WHY??
Well, the main reason I’m doing this is to raise as much money as I can for Cancer Research. Too many people I know have suffered or are suffering from this devastating disease, and some people have fought hard but sadly lost their battle.
I am doing this challenge for many many people, but there will be 4 people at the forefront of my mind, doing this with me every step of the way:
My Little Grandad - Terry Mason
My Big Grandad - Ron Pickersgill
My Big Nan - Rusty Pickersgill
A lady for whom I have great respect - Jane James
Each one of these people suffered with cancer, I think about them every day and it will be an honour to do this challenge in their memory.
MY TARGET
I will be trekking for 11 days to reach an altitude of 5,364m. So my minimum fundraising target is £536.40 - That’s 10p for every metre of altitude. BUT my ideal target is £5,364!! - That’s £1 for every metre of altitude, and that is why I need your help!!
I CAN’T DO IT WITHOUT YOU
As I am funding this trip myself 100%, yes 100% of the donations will go to Cancer Research. Every single pound you donate will be repaid with unlimited gratitude, but that’s not the only way you can help.... Spreading the word to anyone and everyone who may want to donate to a good cause is just as important - So go on, what are you waiting for??

PS. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Cancer Research is the world's leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research. They are fighting cancer on all fronts, finding new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat it to save more lives. They are entirely funded by the public, with your help they can ensure more people beat cancer.
