We help blind and partially sighted people to break down the barriers of sight loss

Story

A couple of years ago my brother lost his sight to a rare inherited gene disorder, X-linked juvenile retinoschisis.I have the same disorder. I hope to help RNIB in their good work supporting people losing their sight. They have helped my family when in need & I hope to help them in turn.

I enjoy a challenge & last year ran my first marathon. I hope the challenge of running a marathon every 3 weeks for 8 months (11 marathons) & running an equivalent of a marathon each week over 8 months (1,000 miles) shows my commitment both to raising some needed funds for RNIB and how much I want to run the London marathon. The 11 marathons are booked. Barring injury I'll be running them all. The 11 marathons are happening and I'll be proud to have raised some funds for a great cause.

The marathons are York Marathon (Oct 4:00:36), in Leeds (Hubble Bubble Oct 4:13:20, Kirkstall Abbey Trail Marathon Nov 4:39:47, Canal Christmas Cracker Dec 4:13:36, Canal Canter Mar 4:18:54), near Bradford (Sir Titus Trot Jan 4:25:43), near Skipton (Beautiful Bolton Abbey Trail Marathon Feb 4:57:16), near Harrogate (Grim Four by Four Mar - cancelled due to snow), Temple Newsam nr. Leeds (Mar - replacement race 5:04:48), Manchester Marathon (Apr 4:22:04), Liverpool Marathon (May 4:33:29) & now London Marathon (Apr 4:37:03) - and I squeezed in a twelfth “A Bridge too Far Ultramarathon” (Leeds 9:03:01) - race fees paid, as is winter kit (ugh) & spare shoes (3 pairs).

If you would like to help support me on this challenge please donate, share on social media or both.

Thanks for reading.
