101 Holidays is a travel inspiration website set up by two journalists and one former tour operator. We operate two main websites: www.101holidays.co.uk and www.101honeymoons.co.uk.

In 2011 we launched a new site - 101 Family Holidays - and during the research period we got to know the Family Holiday Association, which sends children from deprived backgrounds on much-needed holidays.

The more we learned, we more we admired and appreciated the great work they do. Like the FHA, we believe holidays are important to children - and their parents. They should not be the preserve of the well-off.

The children helped by the FHA have experienced great difficulties in their young lives, yet many have never even enjoyed a day at the seaside.

We decided we wanted to help. So we donated a page on the new site to the FHA to help promote their work. And we launched a competition on Twitter, asking people to send us a hotel review in 140 characters. For each person that entered, we donated £1 to the FHA. We raised £118.

As the FHA is now our charity of choice, we will be looking for ways to raise more money for it at every opportunity. We'll keep you posted on our latest ideas. In the meantime, we'd be delighted if you'd like to leave a small donation.
