What is the 100 mile commute?
Last year a team of Cyclescheme and Grass Roots Group (Cyclescheme’s parent company) staff took on a cycle challenge like no other. We cycled from Cyclescheme HQ in Bath, through to Grass Roots Group head office in Tring, Hertfordshire. At just over 100 miles, it was no mean feat!
You can find out more information about the event this year on our website
This year is set to be bigger and better than ever. The team has grown to include not just Cyclescheme and Grass Roots staff, but personalities from the cycling world too along with acclaimed cycling journalist and author, Rob Penn.
Why are we doing it?
We want to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Most of us – if we had cancer or another illness – would want to be cared for at home if we were dying – close to family and friends and surrounded by the things we love.Marie Curie Cancer Care makes that choice possible for thousands of patients and their families every year. They do it through the Marie Curie Nursing service, which provides free high quality hands-on care to patients in their own homes, along with vital emotional support for their families. They also have nine hospices across the UK and the charity is investing more than £4m per year in research and development that will lead to improved care for patients at home and in hospices.
