HSBC 100km Andean Volcano challenge · 1 March 2020

We support those affected by a brain tumour to ensure they are not alone

Story

Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page!

In recent years I have been on a jungle trek in Peru, UK Three Peak challenge, the Inca trail, High Atlas Mountains, Guernsey Island walk, Jersey Island walk 48.1 mile, many times and the Peter Ward Christmas Island walk 46 miles. (My mother feels there is a little goat in me).

I have been selected to represent HSBC with 99 other colleagues through a global initiative to raise awareness of mental health by doing a 100km trek in the Andean Volcanoes in Ecuador.

This will likely be the hardest physical challenge I have done to date. 100km over 5 days trekking at altitudes of over 3,500 metres and going as high as 4,300 metres.

The trip is self funded completely but I want to raise funds at the same time for the charity that has done so much for my mother and family.

I am asking all my friends, family and anyone who supports this wonderful charity to donate something no matter how small to help me with this quest. I want to give a little something back to the charity that has done so much.

In 2015, my mother was diagnosed with a brain tumour, which left our whole family in shock. The Jersey Brain Tumour charity not only supported my mother but the whole family with advice, support and assistance where needed. This was a traumatic time in our lives with considerable disruption. Trips to London, surgery and radiotherapy for weeks on end separated our extraordinary close family. After a year of treatments, my mother returned to work and now lives a reasonable quality of life. The Jersey Brain Tumour charity have been there for our mother and family. Help me to help them, to help others please.
