Story

This page is to raise money for the Mountain Rescue Teams whose volunteers made every effort to get Steve and Andy home safe from Ben Hope in February 2019, alongside Coastguard helicopters.

Sadly, it wasn't to be.

My friends and family have been amazing and helped me get a group together called Doing Stuff for Steve when I could barely get myself together.

We have climbed, organised a fundraising cruise, and accompanied me in my challenges of doing 50 Munros this year (currently only on 20) and running the Baxters Marathon.

None of this in any way reaches the level of challenges Steve gave himself, but then, he was cut from a different cloth.

Please give generously in recognition of the volunteers of the MRTs and their dedication to saving people in trouble in the Scottish hills, and in memory of both Steve and Andy, both of whom are greatly missed, by all those that met and loved them.

About the charity

The primary role of the Assynt Mountain Rescue Team is the provision of search and rescue in mountainous, or inhospitable terrain in North and NW Scotland, for any person who may be injured, or otherwise in need of assistance. The Team are all volunteers from a variety of backgrounds.
